GSL Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a valued client for the position of Registered Manager to oversee the establishment of a brand-new, 3-bedded children s home in Sheffield. This home will support young people aged 8-18 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and mental health needs. The Registered Manager of a children's home is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the home in compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015. The role involves ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children and young people in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to the staff team, promoting a positive and inclusive culture.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including Ofsted standards and safeguarding protocols.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the physical, emotional, and educational needs of children.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
• Manage budgets and resources efficiently while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring that safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, families, and stakeholders.
• Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home meets or exceeds quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or equivalent).
• Significant experience in residential childcare or a similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding, and Ofsted standards.
• Leadership and team management skills with a focus on developing staff.
